- Joe Biden is set to address the nation at 11:00 a.m. (1600 GMT), after Kamala Harris sought to console the voters who had hoped she would become the first woman to win the White House. Trump's victory has sent shockwaves through Black American communities, which voted overwhelmingly for Harris.

- It's a busy day for monetary policy, with the US Federal Reserve, the Bank of England, Sweden's Riksbank and Norway's central bank all announcing rates decisions. The BoE cut interest rates for only the second time since 2020 to 4.75% from 5%.
- Meanwhile, Sweden's central bank cut its key interest rate to 2.75% from 3.25%, and Norway held its policy interest rate unchanged at a 16-year high of 4.50%.
- Now, attention turns to the US. The Fed is widely seen as cutting by a quarter point later today, but investors will be keen to hear what Chair Jerome Powell says about the risks of higher inflation under Trump's proposed tariffs and immigration policies.
- China's exports grew at the fastest pace in over two years in October as factories rushed inventory to major markets in anticipation of further tariffs from the US and the EU, as the threat of a two-front trade war loomed large.
- Nissan announced a $2.6 billion cost saving plan, including 9,000 job cuts and a 20% reduction in global production capacity as it battles falling sales in China and the US. For more news on the industry, sign up to the Auto File newsletter.
- Japan's Nippon Steel hopes to close its $15 billion deal to buy US Steel by year-end before Trump retakes the White House in January, a senior executive said, as the acquisition is core to its future growth.
